The primary schools administration in Malmö city was formed the 1st of July 2013 and is one out of three school administrations in Malmö city.
In Malmö, there are 80 municipal and 25 independent primary schools. There are just over 34,500 pupils in the municipal compulsory schools (pre-school class, compulsory school and compulsory special school) and in the independent compulsory schools 5,200 pupils. About 15,400 students go to municipal and independent leisure centers.
The primary and lower secondary school administration employs 6,400 people.
