Laboratory of Digital Culture

The LabCD “Laboratorio di Cultura Digitale” (Laboratory of Digital Culture) of the University of Pisa (UNIPI) develops projects in the field of digital humanities.
The main areas of interest are: e-learning, digital editions, digital philology, digital libraries, archives and websites, digital art and design, 3D graphics, multimedia production, e-books.
The strength of the lab is the strong interaction between professors and students and the development of solutions based on ICT.

Enrica Salvatori

Professor of Medieval History at the University of Pisa. She’s the responsible of the activities related to Shelfie project for UNIPI.

Maria Simi

Professor of Computer Science at the University of Pisa. She’s the director of the LabCD.

Chiara Mannari

Digital humanist. Master’s degree in Digital Humanities at the University of Pisa, she has a research grant at the LabCD.

Daniela Rotelli

PhD Student in Computer Science at the University of Pisa. My research is focused on Learning Analytics and in particular on modelling student behaviour while
learning in Online Learning Environment.

Francesco Stella

Master’s degree in Digital Humanities at the University of Pisa. Specialized in Web design, Graphic interfaces and Virtual environments.

Aurora Baroni

Main activities

  • Logo & identity: design of the logo “Shelfie” and brand identity of the project.
  • Website: design and development of the website, website maintenance and coordination of the editorial staff.
  • In depth study: questionnaires development, dissemination and data analysis.
  • Interactive roadmap: design and development of an interactive online roadmap to publish all the contents produced by the partners.
